So I'm moving back towards my old stomping grounds pretty soon and since the money is starting to dry up, I've started sending in applications around town, even though I don't actually live there yet. I scanned craiglist and I've seen lots of postings, mostly for sales jobs which I just don't think are a good idea but a few office staff jobs and other stuff. I applied for a bed and breakfast job and then I saw a nanny job, and I realized something. I would be a great nanny. I cook and clean, do crafts, sing and dance and play games. I'm really still a child at heart. I'm even CPR certified. I applied for it and felt wonderful. I felt like I had a really good chance of getting it, and that I would simply love it! And then I found out it was a scam. I spent an hour thinking of Mary Poppins and Sound of Music and what fun it might be to be a nanny, now completely devastated. Then I applied to my favorite bagel shop. In actuality, it would be the perfect job for me. It fits perfectly within my schedule, just the right amount of hours, I could walk to work, I have bakery experience already, and I would be working in the food industry. I'm just still so disappointed that it's hard to see the good in anything else.
I think I'll probably get the bagel shop job. Hopefully it won't be too awful. Who knows, maybe they will let me do a bit of inventing. Fingers crossed!
Cassi don't worry about the scam! There are SO many on Craigslist--I used to be an employment advocate for refugees and would e-mail *every* ad I saw on Craigslist out of desperation and half were scams or for third party sites gathering information.
ReplyDeleteGood luck following up on the bagel shop job! Sounds like a dream! :)
thanks! I'm really hoping it all works out!
